But I think it wasn't songs prototypes. They just yelled to be furious and to frighten animals. But then they needed to communicate somehow - and here comes the language. Music is a little bit more mysterious thing - and roots are in people beliefs. I think music came primarily from religious acts - just because I think religion is powerful enough to "produce" a music.

I believe that music you like fully reflects your inner world.
I even think that music was the first, it was invented before any languages. Cave people were producing some nice sounds like melodies while killing elephants and making steaks. So, they needed words to describe their feelings....and....ta dah...language was invented.

Fully agree with you. There is another point - very often we choose to study certain language just because we need it (for work etc.) but don't because we like it. And in this particular case correlation is not so strong. For example - I studied spanish in school but I'm not fond of spanish music or culture. I'm not saying it is bad I'm just saying that I don't feel interest.

Only yesterday I discussed this issue with a friend of mine. We talked about Cuban music and dance culture. It's amazing how they do feel rythm and motion. It seems to be in their blood by nature.
I think the music we choose is deeply connected with our temperament and spirit. The same applies to languages we choose.
So, music taste correlates with language we choose to study. And all of that predefined by our character.
What do you think?
